Indian Coast Guard personnel arrest 6 Sri Lankan fishermen

INDIA (News Cutter) – Six Sri Lankan fishermen were detained and their boat was seized on Sunday, March 19, by a surveillance team from the Indian Coast Guard for allegedly fishing in Indian seas.

The surveillance team members on duty on the ICGS Adhesh noticed the fishermen fishing in the Indian seas, according to information received by the Tharuvaikulam Coastal Security Group station.

The ICG team was supposed to present them to the authorities on Monday afternoon after securing them and their possessions along the Gulf of Mannar stretch.

The officials claimed that they had not yet been given the identities of the fishermen who had been arrested or other information.
