COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (News Cutter) – The Ceylon Electricity Board has confirmed that the second generator of the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant will be reconnected to the national grid today (15) at 8 pm.
This follows a recent breakdown of one unit, which has strained electricity generation, compounded by reduced hydro-power due to a drought. With one generator presently operating, adding 300 megawatts, the repaired second generator’s reintegration will recover lost power.
The third generator remains offline since June for planned maintenance.
