Govt. is still losing money on diesel and kerosene — State Minister Chanaka

According to State Minister of Power and Energy D.V. Chanaka, the government continues to lose money on the sale of fuel and kerosene. He made this statement in Parliament today, November 9.

He claimed that as a result, the government loses Rs. 12 for every litre of diesel and Rs. 22 for every litre of kerosene.

The state minister claimed that even if the cost of fuel, particularly crude oil, has gone up on the global market, consumers won’t see a price hike.

He said that any profits would be shared with the people.
