President Ranil Wickremesinghe will be contesting for the upcoming Presidential Election.

Speaking at a popular television interview yesterday, January 30, General Secretary of the United National Party (UNP), Palitha Range Bandara hinted that President Wickremesinghe will be contesting for the upcoming Presidential Election.

Furthermore, Range Bandara predicted that leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa will dodge the next Presidential election, accusing that another scapegoat will be sacrificed as a replacement as done during the Parliamentary Presidential Election held last July (2022).

It is noteworthy that the next Presidential Election will be held in 2024 after Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s four year mandate ends.
