COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (News Cutter)—State Minister of Agriculture, Mohan Priyadarshana De Silva, announced plans to cultivate 11,000 acres of abandoned paddy lands by the end of this year.
The program will be executed through the Department of Agrarian Development, with a budget of Rs. 420 million allocated by the government.
In a separate event, President Ranil Wickremesinghe emphasized the government’s financial accountability to Parliament, pledging to follow its instructions and orders in the debt optimization program.
He expressed commitment to preventing the country from descending into anarchy and remained devoted to Sri Lanka’s development. (Lahiru Doloswala)
