Sri Lankan Aviation Minister on Aeroflot grounding.

Sri Lankan Aviation Minister on Aeroflot grounding.

Minister of Aviation, Shipping and sports Nimal Siripala Silva said the issue was not between two countries, but it’s between two companies, commenting on the grounding of the Aeroflot flight in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

According to the Minister, a case has been filed in the Commercial High Court of Colombo by the lawyers of Celestial Aviation Trading Limited, an Irish company, who claimed that Aeroflot had not paid the aircraft lease fee. The minister added that the company had taken steps to arrest the aircraft.

He also told the media that the Commercial High Court had issued an order urging Aeroflot to refrain from taking the aircraft away.
