Special Commodity Levy on Potatoes Extended for Four Months

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (News Cutter) — The Special Commodity Levy on imported potatoes will remain in effect for an additional four months starting from September 8, 2023.

The Ministry of Finance increased the levy by Rs. 30 per kilogram for six months, resulting in a new levy of Rs. 50 per kilogram.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe extended the levy’s effective period for an additional four months.
