A shocking video had made the rounds on social media appearing to be of Advisor to the President and former Member of Parliament Professor Ashu Marasinghe, sexually abusing a pet dog.
The former MP had tendered his resignation from the post of Advisor to the President yesterday (23), moments after the video had emerged on social media.
The owner of the pet dog was a woman named Adarsha Karandana, who held a media briefing along with former MP Hirunika Premachandra.
Ms Karandana had met Mr Marasinghe on Facebook and the two had gone on to enter into a relationship. They had been living together and she claims to have noticed changes to the behaviour of the pet dog.
