In a move to bolster support for the agricultural sector, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has authorized the prompt allocation of Rs. 500 million for the procurement of paddy, as confirmed by Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera.

The announcement, made by Minister Amaraweera, signifies a proactive measure by the government to address the concerns and needs of farmers across the nation. With this significant allocation, plans are underway to establish a minimum of two paddy purchasing centers in each district, ensuring accessibility and efficiency in the procurement process.
