Prime Minister says there is no fuel crisis in Sri Lanka.

The Naramalla Pradeshiya Sabha was declared open under the patronage of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. While speaking at the event, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that there was no fuel crisis in the country.

He added that statements made by Ministers as a result of political inexperience, claiming that only 4 days worth of fuel was available in the country, was the reason for an increased demand due to panic.

Prime Minister Rajapaksa also commented on the Governments plan to improve access to clean water.

Interestingly he also made a remark that Minister in charge of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board Vasudeva Nanayakkara is carrying out this task in a successful manner. However, Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara expressed his refusal to continue as a cabinet minister. The minister stated this during a presser held on Friday, March 4.

The presser can be viewed here.
