Special CID flies to Indonesia to probe Billionaire businessman’s mysterious death

A special team of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is expected to travel to Jakarta, Indonesia in order to investigate the suspicious death of a Sri Lankan billionaire businessman. 

Onesh Subasinghe, Managing Director of OMEX holding was found dead inside a rented luxury apartment in Jakarta on February 5.  

OMEX holdings, a family-owned business was founded by Onesh’s father, Alfred Subasinghe.  

The 45-year-old was on vacation in Jakarta with his Brazilian wife, daughter–4–and house maid. 

According to reports, Omesh’s family grew suspicious when Onesh stopped returning calls. his apartment was forcefully broken into upon request from the family.  

It is noteworthy that the victim’s Brazilian wife, daughter and maid have fled the country and their current whereabouts are unknown.
