Ven. Athuraliye Rathana has filed a complaint at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) after former President Maithripala Sirisena revealed during a popular TV interview that the pardon of Shramantha Jude Anthony Jayamaha was brokered by Ven. Rathana.

He also revealed that upon inquiry from state intelligence, he was informed that the family of Jude Shramantha has given a sizeable amount of money to a third party for facilitating the release of the convicted murderer.
