“They admitted they did not know the Sri Lanka Economic Crisis was this grave when the decision was made and agreed to suspend the entire process,” said Harsha de Silva in a tweet referring to the leasing of 21 aircrafts by Sri Lankan airlines.
“As a start, all timelines would be extended by 3 months,” said Harsh de Silva.
Sri Lankan Airlines was summoned to the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) today, on Tuesday, April 25.
“It is inconceivable Sri Lankan Airlines Board was that clueless about the SriLanka economy given the stature of members; all top professionals. However, said there was no Treasury Representative (thus didn’t know the real gravity). I am going to let this one go since they admitted the error,” said Harsha.
