The Secretary to the Ministry of Energy KDR Olga stated that they expect to make a payment of USD $ 42 Million in consideration of a shipment comprising of 22,000 MT of Diesel and 22,000 MT of Jet Fuel, tomorrow (18).
The Motor Tanker remains anchored in Sri Lankan waters for the past 5 days and the country hasn’t been unable to source the requisite FOREX to meet such payments. The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has been distributing significantly lower quantities than the daily demand.
