Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said that the defeated Pohottu clan is trying to resuscitate again today (16).

The opposition Leader said that the people usually elect a president based on the program that the president has, to build the country, but he said that the current president was elected by the Pohottuwa MPs on three promises. The opposition leader said that the promises were fulfilled by the current president.

The opposition leader said this while addressing a constituency committee meeting of the Samagi Jana Balawega held in Polgahawela today (16).

The opposition leader said that today is World Food Day and a meeting has been organized to ressuscitate the defeated pohottu gang from the constituency (Nawalapitiya) represented by the minister who destroyed the farmers thereby depriving the people of this country of food.

The opposition leader said that in order to maintain food security in a country, four interrelated elements must be followed, namely, maintaining adequate physical food stocks without any shortages, maintaining the price level so that all types of food can be purchased by the public, ensuring that the nutritional needs of everyone in a household are met, and maintaining a continuous and stable food supply chain

He said that the current government, is failing in all of them.
