The All Ceylon Poultry Traders Association says that the prices of chicken and eggs may go up in the future.
Ajith S. Gunasekera of the association stated on Sunday (29) that the industry will be able to continue for the next six months only if the $40 million were released to the importers through banks to import the required raw material.
He also revealed that egg production has dropped by 40% and chicken production by 30% while farms are being closed down due to unsustainable losses.
