Schools will reopen tomorrow, December 12, after being closed on Friday, December 9, owing to inclement weather around the country.

As a result, all public schools, private schools with government approval, and Catholic schools will reopen tomorrow.

The administration made the choice to reopen the schools.

The Ministry of Education published a statement on Thursday noting that after consulting with the Department of Meteorology and the Disaster Management Centre, the decision was made to announce a special school holiday.

The Bishop’s House in Colombo announced Friday a special vacation for all Catholic schools on the island in accordance with the government’s decision.
