Protests against tax policy held near the Finance Ministry

The Professionals’ Trade Union Alliance protested today, January 20, near the Finance Ministry in Colombo.

The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) also joined the protest.

The protesters also brought up a variety of other issues, but their main target was the government’s tax policy.

Dr Haritha Aluthge, the secretary of the GMOA, also warned that beginning on Monday, January 23, medical professionals working at state-run institutions across the country would engage in a “Black Protest Week”.
