Measures are being taken to make Batticaloa one of the greatest tourist attractions in 2023.
The President’s Media Division (PMD) reported yesterday, November 30, that a discussion in this respect took place in the President’s office.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe presided over the meeting, which aimed to select land for the Batticaloa District’s tourism industry’s promotion.
As a result, the designation of public and private coastal areas in the Batticaloa District from Werugal-aru to Batticaloa was brought up for discussion.
According to the PMD, the debate was held with the intention of turning the area into a tourist spot and bringing Batticaloa to the top of the list of travel destinations by 2023.
