Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardene declared today, January 17, that the Supreme Court found that the Regulations of Election Expenditure Bill is constitutional and can be passed by a simple majority in Parliament.
The Committee on Parliamentary Business will convene tomorrow, and if they agree, the second reading discussion on the Regulation of Election Expenditure Bill will take place on January 19 at 10.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
