CEB will begin issuing paperless bills in 2023

Kanchana Wijesekera, Sri Lanka’s Minister of Power and Energy, stated that the Ceylon Electricity Board decided to start issuing paperless bills and receipts to all consumers in January 2023.

According to the minister’s tweet, this action would be implemented in order to cut costs at the CEB.

He said that during a meeting with the CEB’s management, directives were given to put on hold the organization’s continuing building of its new headquarters.

Kanchana Wijesekera also stated that it was determined to regulate the installation and operation of street lamps.
