Laws for legalizing export of hemp to be submitted to Cabinet–Minister

According to the State Minister of Indigenous Medicine Sisira Jayakodi, the laws for the legalization of hemp as an Ayurvedic product have been drafted.

The minister emphasized that the relevant laws will be submitted to and approved by the cabinet soon.

Sisira Jayakodi, Minister of State, expressed these views while attending a function in Colombo on Monday, October 3.

We can meet a significant demand on the global market for medicinal hemp and its extracts by producing medications using Ayurveda as Ayurvedic products.

The laws have been drafted. We will present it to the cabinet in the coming days.
