Philippines has donated medical supplies to SL

The Chairman of the Philippines-Sri Lanka Business Council, Michael Chen, donated 5,000 units of peritoneal dialysis solutions to Sri Lanka with the help of the Sri Lankan Embassy in the Philippines.

When Maithripala Sirisena, the former president of Sri Lanka, visited the Philippines for the 2022 International Leadership Conference, which would be held on July 29–31, 2022, he asked the Chairman of the Philippines–Sri Lanka Business Council for a donation.

Shobini Gunasekera, Sri Lanka’s ambassador to the Philippines, expressed on behalf of her country her sincere gratitude to the Chairman for his admirable gesture of goodwill toward Sri Lanka at this pivotal time. She went on to say that the engagement is an example of the strong international ties between the two countries that are based on friendship, compassion, and solidarity.

This month, the medical supplies arrived in Sri Lanka after being created and sent from Baxter manufacturing facilities in the Philippines. The shipment intends to satisfy the country’s public health system’s urgent need for such supplies among dialysis patients.
