CID grills Senior DIG for 10 hours over allegations of ‘state sponsored violence’

Deshbandhu Thennakoon, Senior DIG (Director-In-General) of Police was called in by the Criminal Investigations Departments (CID) to record his statements, yesterday over the alleged ‘State sponsored’ violence that were instigated on May 9.

The police media unit said that Deshbandhu’s statements were recorded for over 10 hours.

Members of Parliament (MP) Sanath Nishantha and Milan Jayathilaka who were arrested in connection to the allegations are to be produced in court today, Wednesday, May 18.
