According to the Ministry of Education, a scheme has been put in place to serve breakfast to more than 1 million students.

The programme would be carried out with the aid of donors, according to Mahinda Yapa, additional secretary of the Ministry of Education.

He stated that the Colombo district is where the scheme is now running.

Additionally, the Additional Secretary noted that 26% of students are presently receiving breakfast.
