Sri Lanka has requested another $ 250 million currency swap from Bangladesh. According to reports, the request for the currency swap had been announced by Dr A.K. Abdul Momen, The Bangladeshi Foreign Minister. News Cutter reached out to cabinet ministers for a comment but they refrained from divulging any information with regard to Sri Lanka’s finances.

Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister is in Sri Lanka to attend the BIMSTEC Summit and Ministerial meeting. Bangladesh also extended a $200 million currency swap back in 2021.
