Government’s Plan to Resurrect Tourism Industry

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka. ( News Cutter) — The Government unveiled a series of measures aimed at reviving the economy and promoting the tourism industry.

A prominent measure involves the establishment of a Cabinet Subcommittee, headed by Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Aviation Services Nimal Siripala de Silva, along with six other ministers.

Cabinet Spokesperson Bandula Gunawardane highlighted that the subcommittee’s primary focus is to identify existing constraints and potential opportunities within the tourism sector.

The Subcommittee presented a comprehensive report containing 25 recommendations.

The report has now been brought to the attention of the Minister of Tourism and Lands Harin Fernando, who will shoulder the responsibility of implementing the recommendations outlined in the report.

Gunawardane underlined the government’s firm commitment to supporting the implementation of these measures. (Edited)
